WHY WE BELIEVE ETHERNET IS SUPERIOR!

Ethernet      See Price Comparison

A local-area network (LAN) architecture developed by Xerox Corporation in cooperation with DEC and Intel in 1976. Ethernet uses a bus or star topology and supports data transfer rates of 10 Mbps. The Ethernet specification served as the basis for the IEEE 802.3 standard, which specifies the physical and lower software layers. Ethernet uses the CSMA/CD access method to handle simultaneous demands. It is one of the most widely implemented LAN standards.

ICDN's Ethernet is a newer version of Ethernet, called 100Base-T (or Fast Ethernet), supports data transfer rates of 100 Mbps. And we can expand, if it were necessary, to the newest version, Gigabit Ethernet supports data rates of 1 gigabit (1,000 megabits) per second.

ICDN has installed two 100base-T lines into the building and is only 400 feet from a "mega" line feeding directly to the internet.

Moreover, with ICDN Ethernet  you will have a personal direct pathway to the internet that will not be shared with other users.

Compare:

SDSL - Short for symmetric digital subscriber line, a technology that allows more data to be sent over existing copper telephone lines (POTS). SDSL supports data rates up to 3 Mbps.

Many companies share these lines with more than one user creating a bottle neck during high traffic times.  Ever notice sometimes downloads happen fast and other times slow?

SDSL works by sending digital pulses in the high-frequency area of telephone wires and can not operate simultaneously with voice connections over the same wires.

SDSL requires a special SDSL modem. SDSL is called symmetric because it supports the same data rates for upstream and downstream traffic. A similar technology that supports different data rates for upstream and downstream data is called asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL). ADSL is more popular in North America, whereas SDSL is being developed primarily in Europe.
